Extension Marketplace

Extensions that plug straight into your inbox.

The marketplace lives inside the Spun app: browse 14 extensions, see exactly what each one can access, and install in a click. Built by the Spun team today, open to partner developers by application.

An app store in your inbox

Extensions are installable apps that live inside Spun. You will find the marketplace in the app sidebar, not on a separate site, so discovery happens where the work is.

Real product surfaces

An extension is not a bookmark. It can add sidebar panels, conversation and contact panels, action-menu items and its own settings pages, on the same platform Spun ships its own features on.

Reviewed before it goes live

Every extension, first party or partner, passes platform review before it appears in the marketplace, and installs always show you the permissions first.

How it works

From browsing to running in minutes

1

Browse in the app

Open Extensions in the Spun sidebar. Every listing shows what the extension does, which plan it needs, and exactly which permissions it will ask for.

2

Install with consent

A workspace admin installs in a click. The install screen lists each requested permission in plain language, and nothing is granted silently.

3

Configure

Each extension brings its own settings panel, defined by the extension and rendered by Spun, so setup happens where your team already works.

4

Manage and update

Releases are versioned. Keep auto-update on to get new versions as they publish, and suspend or uninstall any extension at any time.

Most marketplace extensions are included from the Pro plan up. A couple of heavy ones are Power only, and platform extensions like the WhatsApp channel are on every plan. Extensions you already installed keep working if your plan changes.

Security

Guardrails you don't have to think about

Your customer conversations are the most sensitive data you have. The platform treats every extension accordingly.

Sandboxed by default

Externally hosted extensions run in a sandboxed frame and talk to Spun through a rate-limited message bridge, never directly to your data.

Granular permissions

Extensions request narrow, specific permissions, like limited contact fields or sending through the platform, and an admin approves them at install time.

Just-in-time consent

Reading conversation content takes a separate consent you grant for minutes at a time, not a forever grant buried in an install screen.

Trust tiers

Developers progress from sandboxed to verified to trusted partner. Sensitive permissions are simply unavailable to lower tiers.

Kill switch and audit log

Platform admins can suspend any extension instantly, and sensitive actions land in a per-install audit log.

Signed, private webhooks

Event webhooks are HMAC-signed, idempotent and retried with backoff, and carry record IDs rather than message content or personal data.

For developers

How to submit an extension

The developer program is open by application, and every step is reviewed by the Spun team. Here is the honest path from idea to published listing.

1

Apply

Open the Developer Portal inside the Spun app (Extensions, then Developer Portal) and tell us who you are and what you want to build. The Spun team reviews every application.

2

Build

Approved developers get the developer guides. An extension is a versioned manifest: declare your surfaces (sidebar panel, conversation panel, action menu and more), permissions, settings schema and webhook subscriptions. Host it on Spun or on your own infrastructure, with signed identity tokens your backend verifies without calling Spun.

3

Submit for review

Publish a version from the portal. Nothing appears in the marketplace until the Spun team reviews it and makes it visible, and privileged data access needs its own approval with written justification.

4

Ship and iterate

Workspaces with auto-update on receive new versions as you publish them, and you get install and usage analytics for your extensions in the portal.

The marketplace is young, on purpose. Every extension live today was built by the Spun team on the same platform partners use, and the review bar stays high. Early partners work directly with the people who built the platform. Questions before applying? Talk to us.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Spun Extension Marketplace?

It is an app store inside the Spun inbox. Extensions add real product surfaces, like sidebar panels, conversation panels and settings pages, on the same platform Spun builds its own features on. You browse and install them from the Extensions section of the app.

Which plan do I need to use extensions?

Most marketplace extensions are included from the Pro plan up. A couple of heavy ones, cloud file sync and phone calls, are Power only, and platform extensions such as the WhatsApp channel and the vertical community extensions are available on every plan. Extensions you already installed keep working if your plan changes.

Do I need WhatsApp connected to use the marketplace?

No. The marketplace itself works without WhatsApp. Some extensions that operate on WhatsApp conversations, like file sync, coaching tips and payment reminders, do require a connected WhatsApp channel and will say so before you install.

What can an extension see and do in my workspace?

Only what it asked for and you approved. Each extension requests narrow, specific permissions that an admin reviews on the install screen. Reading conversation content additionally requires a separate short-lived consent you grant for minutes at a time, external extensions run sandboxed, and platform admins can suspend any extension instantly.

Who builds the extensions?

Today every published extension is built by the Spun team, and the developer program is open to outside developers by application. Every extension, first party or partner, goes through platform review before it appears in the marketplace.

How do I submit my own extension?

Apply from the Developer Portal inside the Spun app. Once the Spun team approves your developer account you get the developer guides and can create your extension, declare its permissions and surfaces in a manifest, and submit versions. Nothing goes live until it passes platform review.
